Jon-Ersgården’s "Rya" yarn is spun from the fleece of our own "Rya" sheep. "Rya" is an old native Swedish breed which is threatened with extinction since the breed is not a high-yield producer of meat.

The "Rya" rams, Korseles Nogger and Korseles Qnut, the Black Evert and the snowwhite Prince, mean that we now have many high-quality "Rya" wool producers. The descent of the beautiful and affectionate ewes is also registered and we take wool samples from their ewe lambs in order to determine which ones have the best wool.
