Jon-Ersgårdens lambs eat organic fodder and graze
in pastures full of wild flowers such as birds foot-trefoil, cumin, clover and
burnet.
The sheep and lambs keep the landscape beautiful and open to the horizon. The bleating
of the dominant ewe can be heard right across the village which means we know where they
are and that they are alright.
Nowadays we have more worries for grazing livestock since lynx, bears and wolves are
pleased to take the chance to wipe out a large percentage of the flock.
All the year, we are putting up protective fences for our animals, which causes problems
for fishermen along streams and watercourses. If you come across such a fence, look for
the gate and shut it properly behind you, making sure you hook back the handle with the
electric wires. Otherwise, as a result, many grazing animals can be injured and caught by
predators.
